Noreen tracks down Glenna, whilst Suzi has a visit from her estranged husband.

This is an eventful episode that cleverly mixes tragedy and dark humour.

There are several quite sobering moments of pain in this episode, but the humour is cleverly injected like an anaesthetic by the reactions of certain characters. This is thanks to some quite inspired dialogue from John Byrne and delivery by the actors.

Vincent was set up in the early episodes as a character heading for a reckoning. We saw some results in the previous episode and it continues here with strong moments of comedy and tragedy.

The toxic masculinity increases with the presence of a certain dentist. His introduction involves a quite difficult scene to watch, but ends in somewhat satisfying encounters with a main character and also the police.

All performances are excellent, with Robbie Coltrane, Emma Thompson, Maurice Roëves, Fiona Chalmers, and Anne Kidd standing out for me.

The visuals are somewhat dated, but the filmmaking is technically sound as always. The early establishing shots are good, the music works very well and the general production design is strong.
