The title to this episode is a reference to Enemy Mine (1985), in which a human and alien (that looked similar to an Unas) on opposite sides of a war are forced to rely on each other to survive. The studio insisted that a literal mine subplot be added to prevent confusion on the part of the audience. This episode's plot instead involves a mine as the central plot.

Goofs
At 11:49 on the DVD, a barefoot Unas is lying on the ground and the bottoms of his feet are clearly visible. Rather than being bare, they have shoe soles.
