Christopher Judge (who plays Teal'c) wrote this episode and in an interview, he said he wrote it with Jolene in mind for the part of Ishta. Within just one day, she quickly accepted. Judge and Blalock met in a makeup trailer before they were going to film and she told him she hadn't completely memorized the lines yet, so Judge jokingly responded, "I wrote this part for you and you don't even take the time to memorize them?!" She didn't know he was joking and so when they get to the set, she was in tears. He tried to explain he was only joking. Later he got a call from the producers who said, "Chris, what did you do?" He explained he was only joking and then he talked to Blalock again and told her it was all a misunderstanding. After all, he wrote the part for her and was thrilled that she was there.

Goofs
When the four warrior Jaffa women come to the SGC to see if Tretonin would work for them, their symbiotes were kept alive in tanks. Since 3 of them were successfully transitioned to Tretonin and 1 died, there were at least 3 available symbiotes that could have been given to Neith and her little sister. Even if they had refused to try Tretonin, there was no need for their lives to be in danger or to risk the final raid on the rebel Jaffa.
