The Hathaway's main bridge is a minor redress of the Enterprise-D's battle bridge, which would also serve as everything from a court room to a lab in Season Two.

The original battle bridge set was itself a redress of Kirk's Enterprise bridge from the first three Star Trek films, and had previously served, with some subtle differences, as the Stargazer's bridge in The Battle (1987).

Riker and his team transport directly aboard the Hathaway, which is supposedly without power. There could be breathable air, but a ship abandoned without life support would be too cold for them to board without freezing. Remote access can certainly take place and obviously there is power or there would have been no lights when they beamed over. Obviously, they would have activated life support ahead of time.
