      Staff writer Terry Sweeney appears as an extra in the opening sketch. He would join the cast in the 11th season. Wearing dance clothing and appearing with Ronald and Nancy Reagan in the Oval Office, Sweeney is clearly playing Ron Reagan Jr, who studied ballet for a several years. There is even a picture in the background of Charles Rocket (as Reagan Sr.) holding up Sweeney (in the same dance clothes), striking a ballet pose.

      In the original airing, an uncredited actress (presumably played by the show's costume designer Karen Roston ) plays an offended audience member who interrupts the "Lean Acres" sketch complaining about the stereotyping of plus-size women. This was done as a failed publicity stunt for the season's declined ratings and after the commercial break, she is seen forcibly removed from the studio by security. Repeat versions of this show remove that scene.
