Clint Eastwood often speaks of styles of past directors. In the old days of this show Directors used the megaphone to yell "Action" when a scene was to begin. This would jar the horses and make them jump. A fine example of this is at the end of this episode at approximate time mark 49:25. Wishbone and Mushy begin the scene by pulling a wood-burning stove on a transom. As they start out actor Paul Brinegar's horse begins to buck. Given Brinegar's reaction it as to be at the sound of the director yelling "action" into a megaphone right behind the horses.
