Deep Throat

The title references 'Deep Throat', the pseudonym given to the secret informant who provided information in 1972 to 'The Washington Post' reporters' Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, providing key details about the involvement of U.S. president Richard Nixon's administration in what came to be known as the 'Watergate scandal'. Woodward and Bernstein later wrote 'All the President's Men (1976)'.

At the end when Fran is recuperating she has a small dry erase board for communication. However, she is writing with a regular Crayola marker and NOT a dry erase marker. Using a regular marker on a dry erase board would result in blotchy and streaky writing.
