After this episode's original air date, it was never seen on TV again due to an unknown third party making a claim on the movie rights. It was not made available to the public again until 2013, when it was released in Shout! Factory's MST3K 25th Anniversary DVD set.

Several jokes are made about the character McCartin resembling famous author Samuel Beckett, including Crow quipping, "Look, I'm trying to write Krapp's Last Tape." Krapp's Last Tape, is a play written by Samuel Beckett in 1958. Later Crow quips of the rabble, "We all hated Endgame!," another Beckett play from 1957. Even later, Mike says, "Quiet! I'm writing a monologue for Billie Whitelaw," who was Samuel Beckett's muse; starring in many of his plays.
Mike says, "The S.S.Curly has arrived," making fun that the alarm sound on the aircraft carrier resembles Curly Howard.
