Higgins (John Hillerman) is correct; there is so such thing as a black orchid; it's really an extreme dark shade of purple. There's also no such thing as a black rose. Flowers lack the genetic ability to be truly black only dark shades of colors that appear to be black.

Goofs
Just prior to meeting the Black Orchid for the first time, Magnum emerges from the sea wearing only swimming shorts. In the middle of the conversation with the Orchid and Higgins, he is suddenly completely dry and wearing a blue vest (t-shirt) and red baseball cap.
