Floyd Lewellen's car is a Honda N600, the first Honda car officially imported into the US (starting with Hawaii). Yoshio Mizamura's henchmen drive a 2nd generation Datsun 200SX coupe. Before the OPEC oil embargo few Americans would have bought a Honda. But when the price of gas skyrocketed Hondas were suddenly in high demand (one Civic model got 50 miles to the gallon, an almost unbelievable number), and waiting lists could be as long as eighteen months. After the worldwide boom in demand, Honda began to upscale their cars to eventually become one of the biggest car companies in the world.

Goofs
Starting at 25:16 as Magnum and Floyd are driving towards the city, following the shooting, it's not Magnum nor Floyd in the car. "Magnum'" has no mustache and "Floyd" has black hair.
