When Gofer gets his blood pressure checked, the nurse supposedly pumps up the cuff way too much, but the maximum the gauge shows is just 130, barely above normal. Typically the cup is pumped up to 200 or so, and then slowly let out. Edit: in actuality, the pressure in the cuff is increased until the pulse (heart beat) can be heard, this is the systolic (upper) number of the person's blood pressure; the pressure is then slowly released until the sound disappears, this is the diastolic (lower) number. If the nurse/tech has to pump to 200, the patient has serious health issues. That said, as much as she pumped, the gauge would have shown more but the equipment was likely altered as a safety measure.
