It was established that Lumpy Rutherford is older than Wally and Eddie since Lumpy's first appearance in the series in season one. In this episode, Eddie tells June that Lumpy has been held back a year in school. This plot device allows Wally, Eddie and Lumpy to be friends in the same high school class for the remainder of the series.

Goofs
The test score sheet posted on the high school bulletin board misspells Clarence 'Lumpy' Rutherford's first name as "Clarance". Considering that a school teacher typed the names on the test score sheet, this is an egregious error.
