Shrunk

This episode appears to be based on two separate cases/incidents:

• The 2003 murder of Lana Clarkson committed by Phil Spector.
• The unconventional 24-hour therapy and treatment of Brian Wilson by Dr. Eugene Landy.

The group therapist refused to disclose to the detectives who might have had reason to harm the victim, claiming that divulging that information would be violating doctor/patient privilege. However if a doctor (the same applies for a lawyer) has reason to believe that their patient is planning on harming them-self, or someone else; or learns from their patient that someone is harming them, or is going to in the future, the doctor actually is not only allowed to violate doctor/patient privilege, but is required by law to report their suspicions to the police.
