Entrapment

In an earlier episode Conspiracy (1992), Phil Cerreta (Paul Sorvino) and Mike Logan (Chris Noth) investigated the assassination of the leader of the African-American Congress (AAC). In this episode, Lennie Brisco (Jerry Orbach) and Ray Curtis (Benjamin Bratt) investigate the attempted murder of the new AAC leader Roland Brooks. Lennie notes that Logan investigated the previous leader's murder. Joe Morton portrayed Roland Books in the earlier episode; Ron Cephas Jones portrays him in this episode. Other actors reprise their earlier roles.

Briscoe decides to arrest Angela Roney after finding out she has a bench warrant out of Florida for failure to appear at a court date, Curtis questions doing so since the penalty for the charge she was facing was a $50 fine. Curtis was correct to question it, in New York (and pretty much any state) police will not arrest someone who has an out-of-state warrant for a violation or most misdemeanors. Because of the cost involved in extraditing an inmate, police will only arrest someone on an out-of-state warrant if the charges they are facing are either a felony, or multiple misdemeanors whose combined sentence would carry a minimum penalty of a $1,000 fine and at least one year in jail.

The WE TV/Oxygen cable TV airings censor the cleavage scene where one of the suspects is found in bed with two escorts.
