Trivia
Jerry Orbach left the show due to on-going treatment for prostate cancer. Rather than retire, he was offered a role on the new Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005), where his special investigator role would have a smaller profile in the new show and provide him more schedule flexibility so that Orbach could continue work. Sadly, he passed after filming only two episodes on December 28, 2004 at the age of 69.

Goofs
At a scene set in Vermont there's a Bee Line Bus in the background. The Bee Line operates only in New York City and Westchester County, New York.

All DVD issuances of season 14 also include this edited version.
