This is the last episode in which the late Michael Conrad gets an opening credit for his deceased character of Phil Esterhaus. The reasoning by the producers might be that his farewell letter to the precinct may have been considered for the purposes of dialog by his character, even though the words were actually delivered by Captain Furillo (Daniel J. Trevanti).
