The Charlie Weeks saga was based on Bad Shoot (1977), which was written by Hill Street co-creator Michael Kozoll. The earlier series was a precursor to THIS series, and featured several members of its cast.
Michael Kozoll's final episode as Executive Producer. From Season 2 on, while he shares some story credits, he was no longer involved with producing or creative influence on the show.
This season finale is actually two episodes joined together.
