'Choc' Minty is suddenly rather helpful when he warns Hazell that some lag has made a serious accusation about Hazell over a bribe he may had took. It seems Hazell left the police under a cloud over a bribery allegation.

Hazell cannot just sit back and looks up some old acquaintances such as his former police partner who is not pleased to see him.

We discover Hazell's life went into freefall. He drank too much and his marriage hit rock bottom. His police partner did his best to cover up for him.

It is nice to see Hazell was not always so chirpy and happy go lucky. It is also good to see that there are people willing to look out for him when a senior officer comes investigating.
