Fat Cats Look the same Wherever you Go...

While there's nothing remarkable about the subject matter of this film, what was astounding was the quality of the print I watched on the Europa Film Treasures site. It was crystal clear, even when expanded to fullscreen, so that I could practically count the whiskers on the chins of all those cigar-puffing fat cats as they paraded around and self-importantly puffed away on their cigars. The film was shot by Peter Elfelt, the Royal Court photographer - and virtually Denmark's sole filmmaker during cinema's early years. His camera follows Icelandic members of the Althing (Iceland's unicameral parliament) as they are treated to a ceremonial reception by the Danish Crown.
