I saw this film a couple of years ago when it came to Seattle.

At first, I was skeptical due to the fact this is about drag queens and focuses on one in particular. When I hear the terms "drag queen," I think of campy and "been done before." This one took it to a whole new level by taking the viewer into the day-to-day life of one who has -- and continues to -- overcome giant obstacles.

I also loved the cast of zany characters. You'll die laughing at some of the southern quirkiness - especially the elderly gentleman who runs his own tour guide company.

But you'll also be moved by the sensitivity towards its subject matter. The film's director doesn't force anything on the viewer but rather presents the story and let's you decide.

It's entertaining but can also teach you a lot about some who don't have it as easy as others.
