In the original script after Doc was bitten, Roger placed him inside of a shopping trolley and would shove the trolley into approaching zombies on their way to the safe zone. Eventually Roger and Doc would be outnumbered and Roger would be forced to abandoned the injured Doc in the trolley to save his own life.
