Just as in many of his movies, John Woo appear in the game as a bartender (the same from Hard Boiled (1992)). He is also the proprietor of the game's Unlock Shop and available as a multiplayer character.

Alternate versions
In order to be released in Germany with a USK-18 rating, Midway released a heavily modified version of the game where all blood and ragdoll effects were permanently disabled, and German is the only available language unlike other European releases. The uncut version was also eventually indexed by the BPjM due to Germany's strict policies on video game violence.
