Several men choose a name out of a hat. Then one of them goes over to Grand Duke Sergei's carriage, throws a bomb under it. Ka-boom. There's wreckage, and guards seize the assassin.

This was going on during the Civil War in Russia caused by the staggering defeat at the hands of Japan. Sailors on the Battleship Potemkin revolted. The Tsar agreed to a representative congress, called a Duma.... for a while.

While everyone was upset about the Grand Duke being killed, it should be noted he had just been appointed the military governor of Moscow, and was going to be in charge of killing a lot of people who opposed the government.

The short form refers to creative works characterized by their brevity and concise storytelling. Unlike full-length feature films, short films have a running time of less than 45 minutes, while TV shorts have a running time of less than 22 minutes.
