The intro theme for this show by Jerry Goldsmith (hearable on the album "Jerry Goldsmith Suites") reuses the same melody as the main theme for the movie "Rio Lobo", released the same year. Or, maybe Jerry used the TV pilot theme for the John Wayne western.
