The movie has been released in the U.S. In an R-Rated and Unrated version by Dimension Extreme. But to also release a version which received the MPAA's blessing almost two minutes had to be trimmed to secure an R-Rating. The differences are only violence cuts. Mostly shots have been removed in the beginning or end of a scene to tone down the intensity of the violence.
In Germany a slightly different cut, based on the Unrated Version, was released on the first edition DVDs. However, the differences are pretty unspectular: Beside two minor modifications of violence at the end of the movie, where the old German version is a little bit shorter, most of the differences are edited credits. Another modification is the replaced information how long Hope is already being hold captive. The only interesting thing here is the fact that the amout of days is suddenly much higher in the second half of the First German Version. Whether it makes the plot more dramatic or not is subjective.
