Yet another installment in the series of secret agent exploitation films from SB.

Tang Ching delivers quite well as the suave playboy Interpol agent. He's not a buff guy nor does he have slick martial arts moves. But he conveys a certain toughness and formidable character while looking good in a suit. Not quite Connery but certainly in that direction.

Margaret Tu Chuan is wonderful as the villainess. I was shocked to read of her suicide at a young age. Truly tragic.

There are some great moments between our protagonist and the bad guys. Margaret Tu Chuan manifests the ice queen criminal mastermind well. But most of the best scenes are actually between Tang Ching and a pickpocket he acquires as a sidekick. The scene where thesidekick compares his tiny pistol to the impressive Mauser carried by Tang Ching is pure comedy gold. If only there was more of that!

But unlike those more female forward films this one is less eye popping and bright. It lacks the mod art direction of the better films. With glamorous outfits and fantastic interiors. Contrasting color combos showing off the vibrant color rendition of Shawscope. The Benz convertible is kind of sophisticated. And Margaret Tu Chuan exudes a certain coolness. But the story unfolds a bit clumsily, and even the obligatory turn at the nightclub with Tina Chin Fei in a similar role as other films doesn't quite capture the magic. This one is neither the over the top farce of the Angel series nor is it the gritty realistic cop film it seems to be reaching for.

It doesn't have all the Mod Cons, though the one scar faced henchman looks pretty ska in that black suit with the porkpie and skinny tie.

Tang Ching stars as Agent 009 in this hugely entertaining James Bond rip-off, that sees the gambling, womanizing spy from Hong Kong take on a gang of international counterfeiters.
