Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone complex is one of the most underrated PS2 games of all time. It's actually really good.

The plot is that in this the cyberpunk dystopia of 2040 people are turning rice into cyborg control. Now Section 9 an elite group of swat force must stop the cyborg controllers before it's too late. Honestly I don't know. But it's pretty cool that they caught the vibe of the show.

Ghost in the Shell SAC is a third person shooter with lots of platforming elements. Think of Tomb Raider or any FPS game in third person mode. This was before Third person shooters before RE4 so it became very jank but still fun. I like this game alot. The platforming is dumb though as much as I like it. Motoko will jump in the air and stiffly miss the landings of many platform before her. The level design is cool albiet generic.

There are Batou levels, where you play as Batou himself. He's a heavy with low level platforming and stealth.

The graphics capture the show's vibe as well. This depressing Y2K dystopia full of curves and edges, gorgeous hair effects, cinematic cutscenes with special effects. It's almost like a PS3 game. The art style isn't there though. Painstakingly animated. Major Kusanagi becomes uncanny in Ghost in the Shell Stand alone complex. She and her colleagues just look to real to be anime. Blood splatters all over the wall like a murdered puppy. But other than that. It's an insanely atmospheric game.

The music is all techno music. Every time you play this game there is techno. Lot's of atmospheric effects and just general noises of pathetic pain to come from the enemies.

There is a multiplayer mode for some reason. But it's cool because you can play as Red Major.

Overall, it's an amazing game and I'd recommend it to all collectors. Only if it weren't so short.
