Leonce Perret is on vacation at the sea shore. Since his wife is back home, taking care of her sick mother, he decides to flirt a bit with one of the lovely young girls at the beach. Matters do not turn out as well as he hopes.

Perret, besides starring in his own series of short situation comedies for Gaumont, wrote and directed them. Although he did not run the camera, he was a pretty complete auteur at this point. Although the series averaged pretty good, this is not one of the better ones; there's a lot of expostulation in the final third of the movie that I can't make heads nor tails of. Perhaps the contemporary audiences had better success.
