The ALH 84001 Martian meteorite referenced in the game, and said to be found in Antarctica in 1984, is a true event and this also is what it is actually called. However, the "confirmation" of the meteorite containing fossilized bacteria part of it is false. It is debated whether the microscopic examinations of it really show prehistoric bacteria or not in the meteorite.

Goofs
The personal audio recorder of Deborah Trask in the Bio Lab states that the password for the restricted file on the computer for "The Contagion" (in this same room) is "Triune" but actually is "Trident".

Alternate versions
