Maelstrom Productions' "The Thing On The Doorstep" is easily one of the better low budget Lovecraft adaptations out there.  Die hard fans will surely enjoy this film.  Though set in the modern day, I feel they still manage to capture the atmosphere and dread that permeates Lovecraft's original work.  Most adaptations of Lovecraft's work retain little of the original story--this is not the case with 'Doorstep'.  This film is very faithful to the original  short story, and I must congratulate Eric, Kelly, and Parker for a job well done !!!

Stephen King describes Lovecraft as "The 20th century horror story's dark and baroque prince". Shot entirely on Digital Video, the film promises to satisfy fans of Lovecraft and the genre itself.
