I'm not sure whether it's a good thing or a bad that as yet no comments have been posted for this movie. I caught it at an art house in Paris a couple of months ago and the audience seemed receptive. Dercourt has a lot to live up to after Les Cachetonneurs. He moved away from musical themes with his follow up but now he's back with a much darker take on classical music. To nutshell it, father is himself a muso working in the classical field and nothing will do but that son and daughter follow in his footsteps. The elder child, a daughter, is already beginning to resent his martinet approach and showing signs of rebellion whilst the younger child, a boy, is not above letting the piano lid fall on his fingers to avoid practising. It's a very long way from the joyous celebration of classical music in Les Cachetonneurs but it remains interesting to say the least, though it seems to have disappeared from the scene.
