As new evidence emerges, assumptions are challenged and the truth becomes clearer.

The acting is consistently strong throughout, especially considering the television format. The young performers handle the emotional weight convincingly, and the adult cast brings credibility to the conflicting reactions of grief, doubt, and self-preservation. Roger Dallier's direction keeps the story moving while allowing the moral questions to develop naturally. Adapted from Jacques Viot's Le Square des Innocents, the film focuses less on suspense and more on the human consequences of an accident and the misunderstandings that can grow around it.

While it may not be groundbreaking, Le crime des innocents is a well made television drama with a sincere heart. Its greatest strength lies in showing how easily people can misjudge one another when tragedy strikes and how difficult it can be to separate guilt from blame.
