Million Dollar Spectacular set features dollar signed Big Doors, gold-rimmed Contestants' Row displays and base, a flashing "$1,000,000" sign in the back of the audience, and a nighttime version of the Hollywood mural on the Turntable. Also, a dollar sign border is used in the opening and the mid-show bumper. Additionally, special six-digit Showcase podiums are used; unlike the daytime podiums, they are identical and have an MDS logo on the front.
On episode four, it was instituted that if there were no million dollar spins in either of the Showcase Showdowns, the Showcase winner would get one spin for a million dollars. This actually didn't happen for the first time until episode nine. On episode twelve, due to a double overbid in the Showcase resulting in no winner, an contestant number was drawn from a drum, and the audience member matching that number got to take a spin for a million dollars.

He won $20,000 in the Grand Game, got to the Showcase as the runner-up to win prizes including a Cadillac XLR convertible, outbidding an opponent by a mere $800 (the range to become a Double Showcase Winner was $1000). Due to a Double Showcase Win under the new rules (in the "Bob Barker era", you had to have the wheel land on $1.00 on your bonus spin to win the million), he racked up a total of $1,153,908 in cash and prizes.
Each Million Dollar Spectacular has a different opening, but the ones that aired during Season 31 generally begin with Bob standing front of the Big Wheel on the daytime set, saying, "It's The Price Is Right $1,000,000 Spectacular. Come on down!" followed by Rod doing a voice-over as people rush from their homes and jobs to Television City, Bob throws money up in the air in front of the Big Wheel, and Claudia models a convertible.
