The musical showdown number between Michael and Banjo was inspired by both the music videos of the songs "Bad" and "Beat It" while the song they used was a parody version of the song "Billie Jean".
The song Banjo and Madonna sang was originally performed by Ogie Alcasid (Banjo). Years after, the song became a big hit for singer Regine Velasquez who happens to be Alcasid's second wife.
During the scene where Banjo ( Ogie Alcasid ) was about to go ahead in front of the queuing students, Michael stopped him by singing a few words from the chorus of the song "Nandito Ako"(literally Hear I Am) which happens to be Alcasid's first major hit during late 80s.
