All Commercials... A Steve Martin Special

The parody ad for the women's product "You Know," which studiously avoids saying what the product does or how a woman uses it, is mocking ads for douches and similar "feminine hygiene" products whose advertising is designed to make women feel embarrassed by their bodies' natural odors and in need of a coverup product.

The Allens Anticol cough drop commercial featured in this special was captioned as being from New Zealand -- Allens was an Australian company and this commercial was filmed and produced in Melbourne, Australia in 1978, on location outside Melbourne Town Hall as well as near Parliament House, at the top of Bourke Street in the central business district.
