Based on the true story, with one important omission

The literal translation of the title of this movie is: Bloodshed in Hong Kong.

This movie is based on the true story of counter-narcotic operations jointly conducted by Hong Kong, UK and China in the 1980's.  However, there was one very important omission: the attitude of local Chinese officials.

During the Vietnam War, Communist North used narcotics as a weapon to demoralize the South and USA, and China, at the time itself was in the Cultural Revolution, the major ally of the Communist North, looked the other way at the drug trafficking because it was the tool fighting the imperialism.  This is the mindset of the Cultural Revolution era did not help to fight drug trafficking because as long as the drug is not sold in China, the Chinese cadres with the Cultural Revolutionary era mindset lacked the incentives to crackdown on the illegal activities.

The narcotic cops in China not only had to fight the drug lords and drug traffickers, but they also had to fight these out-of-dated Cultural Revolutionary era type mindset, and this part was not mentioned in the movie.

In Mainland China, this takes the form of allegory and large-scale epics that reflect on national history. Singapore contributes stories of migration, multiculturalism, and the negotiation of tradition in a globalized city.

The action genre features fast-paced, thrilling, and intense sequences of physical feats, combat, and excitement. The characters of these stories are involved in daring and often dangerous situations, requiring them to rely on their physical prowess, skills, and quick thinking to overcome challenges and adversaries.
