Pretentious porn from untalented actress/director

Ovidie had a brief run as a porn flavor of the month at the beginning of this century, touted by the usual media and even "crossing over", not Jordan but over into the mainstream opposite Jean-Pierre Leaud in THE PORNOGRAPHER. I've watched a number of her films and feel like it was all just another case of The Emperor's New Clothes.

This movie was backed and released by Marc Dorcel, and at least gave him something a bit different from his usual assembly-line porn.

Lisa Harper and the talented Nomi star as two Parisian pals, part of the "hot" scene of the hip capital. Nomi takes Lisa o a sex club, where we see mannishly dressed girls making love; Dorcel regular Ian Scott (now he uses the name Yanick Shaft for some strange reason) is in the background at the bar.

The mood turns dark and fantastic as Lisa wanders, seeing a dominatrix torturing a guy, dripping candle wax on his back (even I know that that's not Dick Cheyney type torture but pleasure-inducing instead).

Next couple of sex scenes center around big dicks, as writer-director Ovidie varies the action across the sexual spectrum. Both Nomi and Lisa get some male servicing, and Nomi even has a d.p.

Inevitably, our two stars have a lesbian sex scene, and the guest star Philippe Dean pays Lisa to have sex with him.

Walking along at night, Lisa meets an old boyfriend, who's now married -in a rather cold scene. Ovidie is trying to tell us something, but what emerges is more mood than anything else -just what Dorcel ordered.
