I have always loved the late Beverly Sills, for her wonderful musicianship and technique. Not to mention her beautiful voice, around the late 70s perhaps the vibrato got heavier and some of the high notes got on the shrill side but overall her voice was agile and had great clarity. She was also fine-humoured and a beautiful lady, which made her performances of the likes of Manon and Rosina all the more charming. This was a wonderful concert, magical and very poignant, a perfect tribute to such a talented soprano. The music as you would expect is amazing and Sills is on top form showing crystal clear diction, superb agility and style and above all wonderful singing. She comes across as very charming on stage and her singing is accompanied with sensitivity. Production-values wise, the venue is welcoming and Sills looks suitably elegant. All in all, wonderful. 10/10 Bethany Cox
