She flies out full of hope and dreams . Her family back in India consists of two sisters and a brother . They live along with their father in a modest house .

Veteran Padmini is her boss in the new hospital. KR Vijaya is dedicated to her work . She is duty driven and sends money home regularly. Her family waits for it eagerly .

She gets her second sister married grandly with her income . She herself remains unmarried .

She meets Soman on her flight . He was promised a job but sadly his mentor dies suddenly . Despipte having degrees , Instead he starts working in a petrol pump. He meets Vidubala in a casino .

KR Vijaya trains her to be a nurse like her and brings her sister Seema to join her . Starting genuinely at the same hospital as her sister, Sadly she gets waylaid with time . Revolts and starts living alone . Her time is wasted in partying and clubbing . Her neighbor Soman often helps her out of tight situations .

KR Vijaya's American boss proposes marriage to her impressed by her hard work and dedication. She keeps him on hold saying my culture is different .

Her brother also joins her abroad dreaming of a luxurious life . Like Seema , he too falls prey to bad habits and stars working in a casino where Vidubala is working .

Soman, Vidubala , Seema , KR Vijaya and her brother keep entwining and they keep crossing each other's paths.

A lot of twists with the casino owner happen .

Finally her brother and his wife Vidubaba die leaving behind a baby . Seema marries Soman after a few duets .

The good doctor keeps his proposal pending and patiently waits for KRV to accept .

KR Vijaya wants to take care of her brother's baby and is about to return home . Her mentor Padmini reasons with her to remain back in the US and marry the doctor . Finally KRV sees reason and remains back . She accepts the doctor's proposal. A family story of its times . Glitz and glamour of US is shown which lured a lot of audience then . Shows both good and bad Americans . Some catchy songs are added. Seema is likeable as a country bumpkin first , a waylaid young girl then as a mature reformed woman . She looks good equally in bikinis and sarees .
