During the depths of the Depression and the heights of the Studio system, the public maintained an interest in the stars that strikes me as a bit barmy. While I look on them as performers on the screen, and possessed of the same virtues and faults as other human beings, SO I don't see anything particularly noteworthy that Clark Gable liked to go skeet shooting, that Richard Arlen and Buster Crabbe swam, and that Walter Huston, Guy Kibbee and Grantland Rice played golf.

But maintaining an interest in these people was in the stars' interest, and in the studios' too. Nowadays we call it a prasocial relationship. Back then, they just said that people liked to find out as much as they could about these people and let it go at that.

And so we got short subjects like this one.
