          Initially Rahul Rawail has planned the film on the concept of reincarnation with Sunny Deol & Padmini Kohlapure in mid 80's but both the actors were unavailable the film got shelved the film was initially titled Janam Janam Ki Mohobbat the story was about two lovers who gets separated due to Family Feud later Raj Kanwar got the script nd decided to make the film with Saif Ali Khan and Mahima Chaudhary in 1997 as Saath Pichle Janam Ka the film again got shelved due to conflicting schedule of the actors finally it was made as Ab Ke Baras with Arya Babbar and Amrita Rao.
