      In a 2023 interview, Brent Spiner said that despite the film's negative reception, he has no regrets about his involvement. He said, "They're almost classics. I did a movie that is a classic, I think, and it's called Master of Disguise. Dana Carvey wrote it, and he wrote it for his two 9-year old boys at the time, and it truly is a film for 9-year old boys. It didn't do well, but it was so much fun to work on. I love Master of Disguise in its terribleness but it was so much fun."

      When Pistachio and Jennifer go to the toy convention to find Bowman, she says her name is Barbara, and Bowman invites her to his house. When Pistachio comes looking for her (as the German Guy and the Snobby English Guy) he says he needs to talk to Jennifer Barker. Bowman knows her as Barbara, and she didn't say anything about him calling her Jennifer.
