«Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project is more than just a childhood game. This is a small universe in which heroism, humor, tooth-crushing battles and, of course, the tireless struggle for justice are mixed. Being a fan of turtles from a very young age, I couldn't get past this game. And looking ahead, she gave me a lot of happy hours (and sometimes even minutes of rage), albeit with a fair amount of frustration due to the complexity.

The plot in "The Manhattan Project" is simple, but damn fascinating. While the bright turtles are relaxing on the beach, the treacherous Shredder decides to turn their vacation into a real nightmare. Not only does he kidnap April O'Neal, a friend of the green brothers, but he also uses his technology to lift Manhattan into the air. Now everything is at stake: hometown, friend and reputation. The turtles will have to go through many challenges to put everything back in its place. The story here serves as an excellent backdrop for endless battles, adding the necessary drive and motivation.

As a child, turtles were real heroes to me. Each of them is not just a character, but a whole personality: the leader Leonardo, the witty Michelangelo, the clever Donatello and the sarcastic Raphael. And although they only differ in the colors of the headbands in the game, the developers have added a twist: each character has its own unique super punch. These techniques not only enliven the gameplay, but also give the feeling that you are playing for each character in a new way. Donatello with his long bo, Raphael with his lightning attacks - it was something. But Leonardo was the coolest of them all, with his powerful sword strokes in twisting around his axis.

One of the main advantages of the game are the bosses. They are diverse, colorful and, frankly, quite complex. Battles with Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang or Shredder himself are a real test of reaction speed and patience. Each boss has their own attacks and tactics, so you can't just spam punches and hope to win. Perhaps it was thanks to these epic battles that I fell in love with this game.

"The Manhattan Project" offers not only rich gameplay, but also a variety of locations. You start on the beach, then go to the Manhattan bridge by sea, visit a submarine, climb into the city, then find yourself in the subway and, finally, through the sewers get on board a ship from another dimension. Each location is unique, with its own visual elements and enemies.

There are plenty of opponents here: Foot soldiers, stone warriors, and other evil spirits. They are constantly changing, not letting you get bored, and sometimes even annoying, because they are difficult to predict. But that's what adds dynamics to the game.

This game is not simple. It literally requires maximum concentration from the player, because enemies are coming from all sides, and each new level poses a challenge that is becoming more difficult. However, it was this difficulty that made the passage particularly memorable. Each victory brought an incredible sense of satisfaction, and defeats only fueled the desire to continue (and swear hard).

Despite some visual limitations, the game shines with dynamic gameplay, charismatic characters, and intense levels. This is one of those projects that, even years later, remain in the memory, evoking warm nostalgia and a smile.
