After being brutally sexually assaulted by a motorcycle gang, Toko an attractive radio deejay (Kazamatsuri) finds herself being blackmailed by one of the culprits who proceed to overtake her plush house and life.

Apart from the reasonably intense assault which occurs near the beginning (and occasional flashbacks of the crime played later on), the film settles into a familiar extortion drama scenario with threats emerging from a range of unexpected angles including an old lover who uses her leverage to rekindle their romantic tryst.

Funky city pop soundtrack and an overcast maritime setting contribute to another stylish Nikkatsu drama incorporating giallo elements as the plot thickens revealing a crime which may be murkier than it initially appears, Kazamatsuri contributes yet another stoic performance still a victim but given opportunities to reclaim her dignity which doesn't always happen in these pink films.

I bought this one on a whim as it was part of the excellent 'Zoom' series and whilst it's much less violent than the others I've so far seen in the set (e.g. 'Zoom Up Murder Site', 'Zoom In Sex Apartments') it's a much more subtle and mysterious sexploitation tale worth the time if you're into these Japanese 'pink giallos'.
