Mildly moving PSA depicting grief at loss of a sibling

Sombre tale of teenager (Anderson) and her close bond with her younger sister (Kurtzman) the events leading up to whose death is told via flashback.

Anderson seems pensive as the perceptive young author whose close friendship with her younger sibling provides the dramatic backbone to this ABC PSA dealing with grief and loss of a child. There's an interesting forward reflection in Anne Seymour's character, a cranky old neighbour who lost her mother at a young age, perhaps an insight for Anderson's character and a way of understanding how traumatic events subsequently shape a person's personality.

Also featuring is Katy Kurtzman, a sassy and confident kid, typical of the characters she often played as a prolific child actress in the 70s, whilst William Bassett plays the father, a familiar face who later found some level of cult fame in Rob Zombie's 'House of 1,000 Corpses'.

Routine tearjerker frontends the funeral scenes, perhaps a gentler method of introducing the sensitive subject to the target audience without exposing them to the sudden shock of an unexpected character death. Sincere and modestly engaging, keep the Kleenex nearby, damp eyes incoming.
