The French girl Genevieve says that her interview has "gone for a Guiness", a deliberate misquote for the expression "gone for a Burton", giving strength to the theory that the expression originated with a series of adverts for Burton Beer, which featured an empty chair and someone saying "he's gone for a Burton". Of course, this doesn't prove the origin, because Burton Beer may simply have used the pre-existing expression for their own advantage. The expression generally refers to someone having an accident, or even dying.

Goofs
Inspector Sharkey returns Genevieve's pair of white gloves when going in to speak to Mr Woolf in the latter's office after finding the gloves in the Art Expert's office. However, prior to this Genevieve is shown wearing the same pair of gloves as she gets into her car after leaving the Art Expert's office in the scene immediately after Inspector Sharkey is shown finding the said pair of gloves in the Art Expert's office.
