Danny Denzongpa was looking for work in 1971 and this was the first film he signed. He got a break as a leading man. But the film remained unreleased for unknown reasons. Gulzar's Mere Apne ended up being Danny's first release and got him acclaim. A couple of years later Nayee Duniya Nayee Log finally released. Some claim the film was only released onto VHS home video in the 80s and did not have a theatrical release. But the film is available for viewing.
