I can't understand why it did not become such a great hit!

This is really great movie, or actually I saw it as a mini TV-series in Russia in the eighties. And I saw it only once, though I still can't forget it. It made a great impression. I was also really surprised to see it was filmed in 1971, you wouldn't say if you see it! Actors are great. Not only the leading man and leading lady, but all of them. Director made a great job! And I could never forget Michel Creton as Chicot - a witty and funny joker of the king. So proud, so clever, so noble and so tragic. They read the novel of Dumas really good and filmed it with respect and it was just great! I still hope to find it somewhere on VHS or DVD. Incredible that it is not known at all and all forgotten about!
