      According to Ben Mankiewicz, host on Turner Classic Movies, all of the dogs used as show dogs were indeed show dogs, except for one. At the last minute, there needed to be a replacement for one woman pulled her poodle upon learning that her dog was not to be the winner...of the FAKE dog show.

      At one point during the Dog Show, supposedly taking place in Philadelphia, PA, an aerial shot of the arena reveals Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. This was stock footage "borrowed" from Sudden Death (1995), whose plot involves a hostage situation; hence, the excessive number of police cars, which make no sense at a dog show.
