A wonderful, nostalgic trip down memory lane.

Cast and crew members from the iconic story The Dæmons reunite in the village of Aldbourne to discuss the making of it. You do not necessarily need to be a huge fan of The Dæmons to enjoy it, but if, like me, you are a fan, you will find this a glorious and warm documentary. It is a wonderful hour of television.

It is sad to think that as of 2026, only John Levene remains from that specific group, with Richard Franklin having sadly passed away a few years ago. It is nonetheless wonderful to hear the memories and stories shared; you get a true sense of the camaraderie that existed between them. The way they interact is so natural, and their recollections of Roger Delgado-the ultimate Master and the perfect villain, yet clearly a sweet man-are lovely to hear. Jon Pertwee also comes across as warm, sincere, generous, and just a great person. It is a shame that Katy Manning and Damaris Hayman were not involved, as it makes the documentary feel essentially like a lads' afternoon out.

The Dæmons was primarily shot on site, so you will recognise many of the filming locations, and the church remains amazing. I actually visited Aldbourne in the late 1990s on a Doctor Who sightseeing trip, and it was a glorious experience.

Ultimately, this documentary serves as a fitting tribute to a landmark story. It is an essential watch for any devotee of the era, providing a heartfelt look back at a time when the show truly found its feet.
